Regulations

Bringing jackets and bags:

On the basis of § 2a para. 2 of the Library Regulations of the University library of 3 May 2021, as amended, the Library Director regulates the bringing of street outerwear (jackets, coats) and bags into the library as follows:

Notwithstanding § 5 para. 4 of the Library Regulations, jackets, coats and bags (e.g. backpacks, laptop or shoulder bags, baskets) may be taken into the library.

The library staff is entitled to ask to see the bags being taken into the library. The library staff is also entitled to prohibit the carrying of bags in individual cases if the interests of other users are unreasonably affected.

Taking along and consumption of drinks:

On the basis of § 2a para. 2 of the Library Regulations of the University library of 3 May 2021, as amended, the library director regulates the taking of drinks into the library as follows:

Notwithstanding § 5 para. 4 of the Library Regulations, beverages (except alcohol) may be taken into the library and drunk from them in resealable bottles or other drinking containers that are closed all around and resealable. Drinks in open or non-reclosable containers such as coffee cups, drink cans or disposable takeaway cups as well as all alcoholic drinks are not permitted.

The library staff is entitled to prohibit the taking in and consumption of drinks in individual cases if the interests of other users or the cleanliness of the library are unreasonably impaired.

Eating is not permitted in the library.
